About us
V42 Fitness is a SOF veteran owned fitness facility located in both Three Forks and Townsend Montana. We exist not just to build muscle and get in shape, but to build community. We strive to provide a space for people to belong and be seen.
The unique name of our facility is a nod to the 1st Special Service Force(FSSF), an elite American and Canadian unit established in 1942. The unit came together and trained near Helena, MT before being sent overseas. The V-42 dagger was a high performance weapon designed especially for the men to use in hand-to-hand combat. Most US and Canadian Special Operations units trace their lineage to the men of the FSSF.
Whether you're into chatting with friends around the desk or setting a deadlift record we're here to support you.
Meet the team that runs the show! Pictured below are Sean and Kira Gifford who own and operate V-42 Fitness.
Kira Gifford, owner/operator/lead goat roper at V-42 Fitness. From managing a household with four active girls to keeping two V-42 locations running (relatively) smoothly, to volunteering as a board member for the Mason Moore Foundation, suffice it to say that Kira barely slows down these days. Kira strives to keep herself and both gyms involved in the community and will always slow down to hear a story about how the gym has changed someone from the inside out. She often hears how the gym has helped keep someone on the path to sobriety or prevented someone from giving up during tough losses and hard life events, making it all worth the chaos that comes with running a business in today’s world.
A lifetime resident of Montana, Kira lived the life of a military brat all over the world. She didn’t know any better than to dive in headfirst with a soldier and the love of her life, Sean Gifford. Fighting her own battles through multiple deployments while holding down the homestead, she’s learned that God, grit, determination, and loyalty are the only ways to make it. She’s always up for a good cup of coffee, a great workout, some deep conversation, and a good laugh!
Sean C. Gifford, is the co-owner of V-42 and retired Army Sergeant Major. In 1999 he enlisted in the Army and was first assigned to the 82nd Airborne division. He then moved over to Special Forces where he served in 10th Special forces group (Airborne) support, 5th Special Forces group (Airborne) as a weapons sergeant, and finally 19th Special Forces group until retiring in 2020. He also served as a Gallatin County Sheriff's deputy and was Mayor of Three Forks, MT. Sean is the recipient of the Purple Heart among other awards and commendations.
In the summers you can find Sean out guiding fly fishing trips on our beautiful rivers here in Montana. Mostly guiding for Warriors and Quiet Waters, a veterans service organization out of Bozeman MT.
Sean comes to us from Louisiana by way of Canada. Him and Kira met while he was stationed in Colorado. When the decision to leave Active Duty came up they decided to move to Montana. Settling in Three Forks with their four daughters where they are surrounded by friends and family.
